Getting coordinators for the wedding wasn’t exactly in our checklist until we attended a bridal fair in January 2013. We had no idea who to get, so we relied solely on brochures handed to us on our first visit. We reviewed these overnight, and came up with the decision to book Events Management Services (EMS) by Anna Liza Sotto among others. We only plan on availing their on-the-day (OTD) coordination services, and if we settle the full payment upfront, we are entitled to their free RSVP service plus a few more freebies.

Getting coordinators for the wedding wasn’t exactly in our checklist until we attended a bridal fair in January 2013. We had no idea who to get, so we relied solely on brochures handed to us on our first visit. We reviewed these overnight, and came up with the decision to book Events Management Services (EMS) by Anna Liza Sotto among others. We only plan on availing their on-the-day (OTD) coordination services, and if we settle the full payment upfront, we are entitled to their free RSVP service plus a few more freebies.
Events Management Services is based in Dasmariñas, Cavite, which makes it easier for them to arrange meetings with our suppliers who are mostly from the Batangas/Cavite/Laguna area. Prior to our meeting, Ms Anna sent OTD templates for us to complete as we went on with the preparations. These templates helped us track our expenses and all other wedding-related stuff such as guest and supplier lists. Our first meeting with Ms Anna was in June 2013. I brought my parents along with me again because I want them to get involved with the discussion with our coordinators. I believe coordinators will play a very critical role on the day of our wedding; they will either make or break the occasion, so to speak.
Our initial meeting with Ms Anna went well. During the discussion, Mom cited hypothetical scenarios (what-ifs) to see how Ms Anna would act upon the said situation. In all fairness, Mom was impressed and convinced with her strategies, making me feel confident that we got the right partners for our wedding.
Communication
Ms Anna has all numbers from different networks, so she may be contacted depending on her client’s preference. She also has iMessage and Viber which made it all convenient for us. Although I don’t expect her to respond to my messages pronto, I know she tries her best to at least reply within the first 24 hours upon receipt. If she fails, following up with her wasn’t at all a problem.
Pre-wedding Duties
Ms Anna was heaven-sent. No, seriously. In so many occasions that I needed plans B and C, she was there to give a hand. She went beyond what is included in their scope as OTD coordinators, which both Roan and I appreciated so much. Although there were instances where I tend to become a bridezilla, she was very patient and understanding. She values that I can completely become honest with her without really worrying about tainting our supplier-client relationship.
We were most especially amazed with her ability to turn things around, convince suppliers to comply with our requirements without being too bossy. She used her charisma to our advantage, and we’re hands down impressed by that.
RSVP
Miscommunication occurred during the period when our coordinators began contacting our guests to confirm their attendance at our wedding. Although we paid for their full RSVP service, I aided in getting in touch with some of our guests, most especially those abroad (US and Australia). There had been confusion when in my records this particular person declined our invitation, but he confirmed his attendance in their list. I know this is trivial, but it could have saved us both time and effort if our records matched.
Wedding Duties
Ms Anna and her team did a superb job on the day of our wedding from the morning preparations down to the closing of reception program. My personal assistant (PA), Tere, played her part well. She was readily available when I needed her, even assisted my Mom, too. All my instructions with my things were duly noted, and it’s very important because you don’t want to lose valuable belongings on your wedding day. Roan’s PA, Ralph, was there to assist him as he got ready for the photoshoot. I don’t know how they did it, but our wedding ran smoothly. If there were glitches, both Roan and I have never guessed it.
Hosting
We’re convinced that Ms Anna is a superwoman. One moment she’s a head coordinator, the next minute she’s become our reception host. I particularly liked the part where she was also dressed for the occasion, and didn’t settle for anything ‘casual’. Mom and I were pretty anxious about the hosting part because we have not seen her host before (not even in sample videos), so you may call it blind faith to fully entrust the reception program to her.
Most of our guests enjoyed how the program went. They had so much fun that they forgot to give themselves another round of food; they were pretty much hooked the entire time. I’ve been to weddings/wedding receptions before, and it is unlikely that guests get really entertained by the host. Ours was an exception, I guess. Perhaps it also helped that most of our guests are close family and friends, so they were likely to participate during the program.
Ms Anna had the authority over her staff, and we can tell that they respect and understand that their goal is to serve their clients to their satisfaction. They did, and we’re happy that we got our money’s worth.
